Rookie Shines In First Round Victory

Brandon Miller's Career Night Lifts Hornets Past Pistons, 102-94

Rookie Shines in First-Round Victory

Charlotte, NC - Rookie Brandon Miller exploded for a career-high seven three-pointers and 31 points, leading the Charlotte Hornets to a 102-94 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night.

Miller, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, was 7-of-14 from beyond the arc and shot 11-of-22 overall from the field. His offensive outburst helped the Hornets overcome a slow start and secure the series victory.

The Pistons were led by Bojan Bogdanovic's 27 points, but they were unable to match the Hornets' shooting efficiency. Charlotte shot 49.1% from the field and 38.9% from three-point range, while Detroit shot just 40.6% and 31.6% from deep.

With the win, the Hornets advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face the Boston Celtics. The Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round in six games.
