Lightning's Dumba Delivers Mixed Results in Loss to Capitals

Lightning Recover from Early Deficit, But Fall to Capitals 4-2

The Tampa Bay Lightning battled back from an early deficit but ultimately fell to the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Saturday night at Capital One Arena. Matt Dumba led the Lightning's offense with three shots on goal, but only one found the back of the net.

Line Combinations for the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning went with the following line combinations against the Capitals:

  • Ondrej Palat - Steven Stamkos - Nikita Kucherov
  • Alex Killorn - Anthony Cirelli - Ross Colton
  • Pierre-Edouard Bellemare - Mathieu Joseph - Pat Maroon
  • Cory Perry - Vladislav Namestnikov - Taylor Raddysh

Victor Hedman and Ryan McDonagh anchored the Lightning's defense, while Andrei Vasilevskiy made 32 saves in net.

Matt Dumba's Mixed Night

Matt Dumba was a key contributor for the Lightning offensively, firing three shots on goal. However, only one of those shots found the back of the net, with Dumba scoring the Lightning's first goal of the game in the second period.

Dumba also had a strong defensive performance, blocking two shots and delivering three hits. However, his efforts were not enough to lead the Lightning to a victory.

The Lightning will look to bounce back from the loss when they host the Capitals at Amalie Arena on Monday night.
