Ted Cruz Holds Double-Digit Lead Over Colin Allred in Texas Senate Race

A recent poll has found that Republican incumbent Ted Cruz holds a double-digit lead over Democratic challenger Colin Allred in the race for the Texas Senate seat. The poll, conducted by the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation among 1600 likely voters from April 5 to 10, found that Cruz has 52% support among voters, while Allred has 40%.
The poll's results indicate that Cruz's lead has narrowed slightly in recent months. A similar poll conducted in February found that Cruz had a 54% to 36% lead over Allred.
Despite the narrowing lead, Cruz remains the favorite to win re-election in November. He has the advantage of incumbency and a strong base of support among Republican voters. Allred, on the other hand, is a relatively unknown challenger who will need to work hard to increase his name recognition and build support among voters.
