6-foot-4 combo guard Anthony Edwards — the No. 1 prospect in the 2019 ESPN 100 — is up to 225 pounds, a source told ESPN on Monday. Edwards, who signed with the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves on Feb. 11, is continuing to rehab after a stress reaction in his foot cost him the final three games of his senior season at Holy Spirit Prep in Atlanta. "He's progressing and everything is on track," the source said.
Edwards is expected to participate in Summer League after the NBA draft. The Timberwolves, who won the NBA draft lottery on Tuesday and hold the No. 1 overall pick, are widely expected to select Edwards. The rebuilding Timberwolves traded away veteran point guard Teague on Monday as part of a three-team deal that landed them Atlanta's No. 6 overall pick in the draft.
After a rocky start to his senior season at Holy Spirit Prep, Edwards averaged 25.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. He helped lead his team to the Class AAAA state championship game, where they finished as the state runner-up.
