Tampa Bay is down 2-0 after playing well at times. The Lightning understand it'll take a lot to get back in this series. Florida Panthers are playing at a high level and Lightning have not been able to respond.
The Panthers will play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves as Matthew Tkachuk scored twice and the Florida Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-4 in Game 1.
The Lightning clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Friday. The Lightning, who were idle, reached the playoffs with a 43-26-7 record. Ondrej Palat scored with just over six minutes remaining in regulation time to give the Panthers the win.
Game 3 of the series will be played in Tampa Bay on home ice. The Lightning will need to find a way to generate more offense and improve their defense if they want to get back in the series.
