A Prelude to the Ardennes Classics: The Brabantse Pijl

A Race of Vicious Climbs

Overijse Sets the Stage

The Brabantse Pijl, also known as La Flèche Brabançonne or Flèche Branconne, is a one-day cycling race that serves as a prelude to the prestigious Ardennes Classics: Amstel Gold, La Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne.

The Flemish-Ardennes Transition

Overijse marks the transition from the typically Flemish cobbled climbs to the challenging Ardennes climbs. Here, riders face the distinctive "vicious climbs" that characterize the Brabantse Pijl.

Course Highlights

The race begins in Leuven and covers a distance of around 200 kilometers. The riders head towards Overijse, where they encounter a series of steep climbs, including the iconic Slingerberg and the demanding Muur van Overijse.

The race concludes in Overijse, where the winner is crowned after overcoming the demanding course and its relentless climbs.
